Web Page Design
When I build my own web page, I’m always thinking a music website doesn’t have to be “rock and roll”. It can also be cute and appealing to girls. Then I made everything in a cute way.
This site has all elements required in the trunk test. It shows information more clearly than the existing website. Other pages will be little different from this one, bacause there will be several pictures and videos there.
Site Structure
After research information about brisbane laneway festival website, I decided to make five sections in my web design, home, artists, show info, tickets and about laneway. These are some basic information about laneway what people look for in the website.
Design Patterns

This is a music festival website that appeals to me. The use of colours makes it a mystery event. The eyes of the middle character will move when your mouse’s moving, and animals on the two sides are dancing. These designs make me feel like I’m already in that festival.

If there are more than three sections, they are necessary to be shown on the top of a website in a large size and with introduction.

I think a vertical local navigation is better than a horizontal one. It needs less space to show information and most people are used to that.

This website uses colours to differentiate each part. It is a smart way to tell people what they are looking at.

This design is very creative. It is like a map. When you click different things, it will lead you to different parts. But the problem is it makes people think which part is what.
Design Aesthetic

Background and colours are beautiful. The Chinese characters catch my eyes, and the carp with Chinese element is special. They look good together.

Everything is shown in a book. It is cute.

As an advertising agency, BootB shows how they work for clients in their homepage. The way they present is lovely and not like other agencies which work as an idea factory.

The original website does not show Page Name clearly. And there is no Search bar.
The revised version is added a Search bar under Local Navigation.
Trunk Test #2

The Section area is unattractive and the fonts are small. The page is a little crowded and too much information. If it is the first time to access Youtube site, you may not find different sections easily.
In the changed version, Home, Videos and Channels are revised in a larger fonts. Page name is also made in a different colour and bigger size.
Trunk Test #3

I find a good example for trunk test. Benefit Cosmetics site is clearly structured and easy for people to find any information. It is hard to find any problem in this website.
Music Festival
The music festival I have chosen is Laneway Festival in Brisbane.
